She requires challengers to defeat all her gym students before the main battle, which tells you something about her philosophy: she wants you to prove yourself through process, not through direct confrontation with the top. Her Roserade is a genuine threat — beautiful and poisonous and faster than it looks. After defeating her, she expresses real enthusiasm about your future journey. She's not performing this. She actually likes it when trainers are better than she expected.
