Pewter City

Location from pokemon-kanto by

The stone-and-rock town at the edge of Viridian Forest — home of Brock's family, Pewter Gym, and the Pewter Museum of Science's collection of fossilized ancient Pokémon.

Pewter City is quieter than Viridian. The grey light off the stone buildings makes it feel cold even when the sun is up. The Pewter Museum holds Kabuto, Aerodactyl, and Omastar fossils — and is the reason much of modern Pokémon paleontology exists. Brock grew up here. Flint, his father, begs on the steps of the museum in an old mustache disguise when he first returns. The gym is where Ash lost his first official battle and earned his first badge — the Boulder Badge — after Brock realized Pikachu had been fighting outside its class for weeks.

Appearance

Grey stone buildings built into the flanks of rocky hills, a dusty town square, the Pewter Museum's columned facade dominating one side, the gym a squat stone building with a large boulder gate on the other. Brock's family house is a modest stone cottage stuffed with nine younger siblings.
