A chain of tropical islands south of Kanto with their own Pokémon League circuit, their own unique regional Pokémon variants, and a culture that emphasizes diverse bonding over brute battling.
The Orange Archipelago is Pokémon's tropical-anime answer to Kanto — warmer, slower, and less obsessed with gym-badge hierarchy. The Orange Crew gym challenges are skill contests (surfing, mountain-climbing, double-battles) rather than straight battles, and the final championship on Pummelo Island is a single six-versus-six rather than a bracket. The islands are home to regional variants — pink Pokémon on Pinkan Island, oversized Alakazam on Trovita — that Professor Oak sends Ash to investigate on his behalf. Ash traveled here with Misty and Tracey after the Indigo League.
A scattered necklace of tropical islands across turquoise seas. Palm-lined beaches, coral reefs, volcanic peaks in the interior of larger islands. The water is clearer and warmer than Kanto's and full of regional Water-type Pokémon in unusual colorations. Inter-island ferries and a few small charter planes connect the major settlements.
