The legendary Electric/Flying bird of Kanto — the storm guardian whose domain is the lightning island of the Orange Archipelago trio.
Zapdos is the second of the Kanto legendary birds — the storm-keeper and the most aggressive of the three. In the Shamouti Island incident, it was captured by Lawrence III after Articuno and clashed furiously with Moltres when released. Zapdos is proud, irritable, and slow to accept peace, even after Lugia sang. Once balance is restored, it retreats to the Power Plant ruins or its open-sea territory, depending on the season.
A large raptor-like bird with electric-yellow plumage, jagged lightning-shaped wings and tail spikes, black mask around fierce red eyes. Thunderclouds form around it in flight and lightning earths from its wings continuously.
