The ancestral Psychic-type Pokémon from whose DNA Mewtwo was cloned — a mischievous pink legendary who appears playfully wherever history pivots.
Mew is the oldest Pokémon known — said to carry the DNA of every other species in its body. It flies through the world curious and unseen, occasionally revealing itself to scientists at the wrong moment and disappearing laughing before they can document it. Unlike Mewtwo, it is not angry. It is amused. Its encounter with Mewtwo on New Island is Mewtwo's first meeting with its progenitor — they fight, they match each other blow for blow, and Mew eventually withdraws when Ash intervenes. It carries no grudge.
Small, cat-like, entirely pink with large dark-blue eyes, oversized pawed hind feet, and a long thin tail with a swollen tip. Hovers more than walks. Expression perpetually playful or curious.
