Kalos's glittering capital — a star-shaped metropolis with Prism Tower at its heart, home of Sycamore's lab, the Lumiose Gym, Café Soleil, and the subterranean mouth of Lysandre Labs.
Lumiose smells like espresso and ozone. The lights never fully go off — the city runs on the same electrical grid Clemont helps maintain. The Holo Caster plays on public screens constantly, Lysandre's voice narrating the evening news from a screen over the fountain. During the Flare crisis the lights go red and the city is evacuated; Diantha and Sycamore hold the center while Ash rides Zygarde down the main boulevard. Beneath the surface, Lysandre Labs runs for kilometers.
Twelve radiating avenues intersecting at a wide central plaza. Prism Tower rises fifty stories above the rooftops in the center, latticework steel gleaming silver by day and electric blue by night. Cafés spill onto every corner. Cobblestone plazas alternate with marble thoroughfares. At street level: glowing Poké Ball shop signs, crêpe carts, fashion boutiques.
