The other Zygarde Core — Squishy's partner, tougher and warier, suspicious of humans until Ash rides him into combat.

Z-2 is the Core that sees humanity as the problem — he watched humans attack Squishy and drew the obvious conclusion. He judges Ash reluctantly and only agrees to team up with him and Squishy after Ash saves the life of a wild Pokémon at personal cost. When Squishy forms 50% Zygarde, Z-2 is the dog-like rider. The two Cores ultimately merge with the scattered Cells into Complete Forme. He is fierce, loyal, and distrustful of humans except Ash.

Appearance

Small green Core like Squishy, but with a single hexagonal yellow-and-black eye pattern instead of red. Harder-edged posture. Pulses with impatience.

• Is a second 10% Core of Zygarde, partner to Squishy, with an observational mandate over Kalos.
• Distrusts humans after witnessing Team Flare hunting Cores, but accepts Ash as a partner.
• Forms the core of the 50% Zygarde 'Dog' Forme that Ash rides during the battle against the Giant Rock.
