Character from pokemon-kalos by
Ash's childhood friend from Pallet Town summer camp, now a Pokémon Performer chasing Kalos Queen. The first female companion whose canon romantic arc with Ash was explicitly written on-screen.
Serena starts Kalos uncertain — her mother wants her to be a Rhyhorn racer, she wants to be anything else. Meeting Ash again at Professor Sycamore's lab re-lights something she's been carrying since they were kids: a handkerchief, a blue ribbon, and a memory of a boy at summer camp who told her 'don't give up till it's over.' She chooses Performing, chooses Fennekin, chooses to travel with him. When she loses her first Showcase badly, she cuts her hair and starts over. She teases Miette, competes with Shauna, idolizes Aria, and — at a dance in Coumarine — asks Ash to dance. At the end, at Snowbelle station, she kisses him goodbye. On screen. The fandom has not recovered.
Fair skin, honey-blonde hair (cut short mid-journey, a moment played like a thesis statement), blue eyes. Pink-and-black performing attire with a red felt hat. Carries a Poké Puff case and a ribbon Ash gave her, pinned inside her jacket pocket. Stands straighter after the haircut.
