The road out of Pallet Town -- a simple sunlit trail where, years before Journeys begins, a pink Mew flickered past a Summer Camp and changed Goh's life.
Kanto Route 1 is the most storied stretch of path in the entire franchise -- Ash walked it the morning he got Pikachu, Red walked it in Blue/Green, Professor Oak meets nearly every new trainer here. For Journeys specifically it is the site of the Summer Camp where Goh and Horace, as children, watched Mew drift across the sky. They have never forgotten. Mew has not returned since. The road's ordinariness is the point. It is not a legendary mountain or an ancient ruin; it is the field outside a Summer Camp lodge where two kids sat on a picnic table with paper juice boxes. Journeys returns to it repeatedly, pushing the idea that the biggest moments in a trainer's life happen on the smallest roads.
