He treats Ash as a peer, not a kid, and he thanks him for the match in a way that means he has been watching for a while.
Tall and imposing with a swept-back shock of red hair, sharp amber eyes, and a high-collared black uniform with Dragon-type Gym badges along the shoulder. A red cape he wears like it weighs something. Moves with the stiff-backed discipline of a long-serving professional who has not relaxed since the Kanto Elite Four, and speaks in clipped, theatrical lines straight out of a League broadcast.
