Character from pokemon-journeys by
Leon's little brother and an unranked but game challenger -- the kid-brother energy of the Galar arc, forever starting out in his brother's shadow.
Hop is nervous bravado and pure heart in a League jacket. He worships Leon, tries to copy every pose, and has not yet figured out that he needs to be his own trainer before he can beat his brother. In Journeys he shows up as a side-arc battler -- sometimes earnest, sometimes over his head -- and specifically as the kid rooting for Ash in the Masters Final because his brother needs to lose to someone for his own good. He chatters when nervous, which is always, and asks questions a more guarded kid would consider too vulnerable. Under pressure he grips the Poké Ball tighter and talks faster. He loves Leon and is also drowning a little in him, and he doesn't know yet that almost everyone in Galar has noticed.
Early-teen boy with a short cap of dark purple hair (a shade darker than Leon's), bright amber eyes, and a gap-toothed grin. Wears a white-and-purple sports jacket, shorts, and trainers, with a yellow sweatband. Holds his Poké Ball in a dramatic, overhand grip he has clearly copied from Leon's broadcasts.
