Ash's Aura partner -- a Riolu that hatched from an egg on the Sinnoh research run and grew into the Lucario that anchors his Masters Eight lineup.
Lucario is disciplined, loyal, and sensitive to Ash's Aura in a literal and spiritual sense. It hatched from an egg entrusted to Ash as a Research Fellow, imprinted on him as Riolu, and evolved through the bond the way Aura Pokémon do. It does not speak aloud often but holds steady eye contact and communicates through small, understood gestures. In battle it excels at Bone Rush, Aura Sphere, and Close Combat -- a melee fighter who dictates rhythm. It sees invisible threads between Ash and other Pokémon, which helps Ash with team composition decisions. Under pressure it closes its eyes, centers itself, and commits fully to one strike. It gets along best with Sirfetch'd, respects Dragonite, and is mildly exasperated by Gengar.
A bipedal Fighting/Steel-type with dark blue fur, cream underside and muzzle, black ears, red eyes, and steel spikes on the backs of its paws and chest. Tail curled low, ears tipped forward, a loose martial-arts stance. Moves with a dancer's control -- minimal wasted motion, always balanced, always ready to pivot.
