Johto's city of historical temples and cliff-top roofs, home to Sprout Tower and Falkner's Flying-type gym. The first gym badge for most trainers on the circuit.
Violet City is an old city that knows it is old. It was built around Sprout Tower, a swaying wooden tower that houses monks training Bellsprout in the Bellsprout-and-monk tradition for nearly two hundred years. The gym is the newer business — Falkner inherited it from his father — and the city has not fully forgiven Flying-type trainers for overtaking the tower in cultural prominence.
A hilly city terraced up the face of a pale-grey stone ridge, with Shinto-influenced tile-roofed buildings in purples and dark reds connected by broad flagstone stairs. The seven-story Sprout Tower rises from the north district, visibly swaying in any wind. The gym building is on a rooftop at the south ridge with a Pidgeot weathervane. Cicadas in summer. Wooden chimes everywhere.
