Mt. Silver

Location from pokemon-johto by

The highest mountain in Johto, a wild and snow-capped peak on the border with Kanto, home to the region's strongest wild Pokémon — and the mother Tyranitar who has spent years looking for her stolen Larvitar.

Mt. Silver is where Johto ends. The Pokémon League considers it the wildest place in the region and does not issue Hiker's licenses for its peak. Wild Tyranitar, Larvitar, Pupitar, and Ursaring live on the upper slopes. Ash, with Pikachu and a Larvitar he's been carrying from Mahogany, climbs the mountain to return Larvitar to its mother. The reunion happens above the treeline, in clouds. It is one of the saga's quietest scenes.

Appearance

A jagged ice-capped peak rising a mile higher than anything else on the Johto-Kanto border. Pine and cedar forest on the lower slopes, bare rock and permanent snow above treeline. Narrow switchback trails. Above the snow line, only wild Pokémon — Ursaring, Sneasel, a Tyranitar or two. Thin air. Hawk cries.
