A small forest town south of Ilex Forest famous for its Slowpoke Well, its Apricorn craftsman Kurt, and Bugsy's bug-themed gym. Where the GS Ball quest, technically, ends.
Azalea's personality is the Slowpoke Well. The town's oldest legend says that the rains in Azalea are caused by Slowpoke yawning in the well — when Team Rocket drove the Slowpoke out and started harvesting their tails for sale, the rain stopped, and the town nearly starved. Kurt drove Team Rocket out with his Scizor and the rains came back. This is not a folk tale. It happened six months before Ash arrives.
A tight cluster of low wooden buildings under broad old-growth trees, with a central square around a stone well that's been there for centuries. Apricorn trees around every house in seven different colors. Kurt's workshop on the east side. Bugsy's open-roof gym on the west. Cicadas in summer; fireflies at dusk.
