Character from pokemon-johto by
Mahogany Town's elderly Ice-type Gym Leader, a former League champion who once lost his closest Pokémon to the cold of a freezing lake — and who teaches Ash to respect the bond above all else.
Pryce speaks in low, slow sentences with long pauses. He is the oldest active Gym Leader in Johto and was once the League's champion, in a generation before Lance. He retired to Mahogany, took up the gym, and taught for decades — specializing in Ice-type Pokémon trained in the coldest weather the region has. Decades ago, a Piloswine he raised from a pup was lost in a frozen lake near the town. Pryce, who never forgives himself for it, has been waiting. In the Johto saga, Ash helps track down a trapped Piloswine from that same lake — the same one Pryce lost — and Pryce is reunited with his lost friend, decades late. Ash earns the Glacier Badge in the rematch, and Pryce, for the first time in years, smiles.
Early seventies, stooped but solid, with long snow-white hair pulled back, a thick white mustache, and shrewd dark eyes. Wears a heavy navy-and-white Johto-style winter coat with gold trim over a pale grey sweater, fur-lined boots, fingerless gloves. Walks with a hand-carved cane that he uses as much for emphasis as for balance.
