Character from pokemon-johto by
The talking, upright-walking Scratch Cat Pokémon of Team Rocket, who taught himself to speak human language out of unrequited love and has been making Jessie and James' plans slightly worse ever since.
Meowth narrates. The motto, the schemes, the cliffhangers — if it's coming out of Team Rocket, Meowth is the one saying it. He is the group's strategist, its frequent mechanical engineer, its Japanese-to-everything translator, and the one who understands that Giovanni despises them. He is also a legitimate Pokémon, which he tries to forget. His backstory anchors the saga: he was a street cat in Hollywood who taught himself to speak by imitating humans to impress a female Meowth named Meowzie, who rejected him anyway. He has been trying to make up for that ever since. In Johto he argues endlessly with Wobbuffet, gets kidnapped by a rogue Persian, and is the only Team Rocket member who can read a map. He will not betray Jessie or James. He will complain about them without pause.
Short and stubby, cream-white fur with curled brown paws and tail-tip, a large gold charm-coin embedded in his forehead that shines when he's scheming. Whiskers permanently at alert angles. Walks upright on hind paws and uses the front ones as hands. Tends to scribble plans on blackboards. Wears nothing except, occasionally, a tiny waistcoat when the plan requires disguises.
