The second of Team Rocket's trio. A runaway rich kid with a bottle-cap collection, a sensitive stomach, and a Weezing he genuinely loves. Dreams of a small life with his partners and keeps finding himself blown into orbit again.
James is the gentlest member of Team Rocket, which is damning with faint praise. He came from obscene wealth — a manor, fiancée, servants — and ran away because he didn't want to be that. He is a connoisseur of bottle caps, tea, regional snacks, and small, well-organized sleeping bags. He cries easily. He will fight fiercely when his teammates are in real danger and is the best chef of the three. In Johto he acquires a Victreebel that bites him on sight, a Weezing who is his dearest companion, and at one point briefly, a Growlithe he had as a boy. He releases Weezing at the same point in the saga Jessie releases Arbok, to protect a nest of Koffing, and the two of them cry together on the hillside. He will still cross the line for a Pikachu heist the next episode. That's the joke, and the joke hurts.
Tall and slim, with chin-length lavender-blue hair and vivid green eyes. Same white Team Rocket uniform with a red R, black boots, white gloves. Speaks with a slight, faintly aristocratic lilt. Usually photographed cradling a bottle cap, a lunch, or his Weezing. Softer-jawed than Jessie and Meowth and visibly flinches during violence.
