Entei is the most direct of the three Legendary Beasts. It does not hide. It runs. It roars when challenged and fights on contact, and its roars have been recorded as seismic events as far away as Olivine. When volcanoes stir on the Cianwood coast, Entei is the thing walking inside the smoke. In the Johto saga, Ash encounters Entei across multiple episodes at a distance, and meets a different Entei — a clone created by Unown in the movie Spell of the Unown — as the illusory father of a grieving girl. The wild Entei remains uncaught. It is, by the end of Johto, still running.
Leonine Fire-type the size of a small truck. Deep brown fur overlaid with heavy white-grey neck-plate armor, sharp red eyes, and a two-tier crest on the head. Mane appears to smolder constantly, leaving soft embers on any ground it crosses. Teeth and claws like obsidian. Roars register as earthquakes in nearby towns.
