He meditates under the Cianwood Falls with his Poliwrath and his Machoke and demands his students do the same. His wife is the real manager of the gym and handles all the accounting. Chuck gives out the Storm Badge and is a reliable source of advice on Pokémon discipline for any trainer who can stand to be yelled at for three hours.
Stocky and muscular, in his fifties, bald-headed with a long white beard, thick white eyebrows, and bright determined eyes. Wears a short-sleeved karate gi with a black belt, bare feet, wrist bracers. Scars on both forearms. Moves like he is twenty years younger, and sometimes is.
