Casey shouts everything. Her victories, her losses, her devotion to Electabuzz, her love of the team fight song (which she will sing, unprompted, from the first at-bat). She meets Ash in Johto during her very first week as a trainer, loses badly, cries briefly, then declares him her rival and her role model in the same breath and never wavers on either designation. She collects Pokémon with yellow and black stripes — Beedrill, Chikorita-evolved-into-Bayleef, a Rattata that is not yellow or black but is close enough, she insists. Her battling is pure heart and almost no strategy; she wins more matches than she should by refusing to give up on a single one. Ash meets her three times across Johto, and each time she is louder and slightly better.
Ten years old, short, with long black hair pulled into two low pigtails and wide purple-black eyes. Wears a yellow-and-black striped Electabuzz jersey and cap — always — over a white T-shirt and blue shorts. Mitt-shaped gloves for the full baseball bit. Carries a bat on longer hikes as a walking stick. Hugs Ash on sight once he becomes Senpai.
