Cassidy's Team Rocket partner, a scratchy-voiced professional whose name no one outside the organization can ever remember — Biff, Botch, Patch, Hutch — and who is deeply, visibly bothered by this every single time.
Butch grunts his way through scenes. He is a fine trainer, a competent engineer, and a worse schemer than Cassidy by half; when their plans collapse it's usually because Butch has added a twist that Cassidy didn't sign off on. He fumes and mumbles in equal measure. He loses his mind any time someone mispronounces his name, which is constantly. Ash has personally called him Biff three separate times in Johto. Brock has called him Hutch. Meowth has called him Mutt. He will stop the plan mid-motion to correct the pronunciation and his partners will have to drag him off. It is his entire personality, and it is somehow endearing.
Stocky, with spiky turquoise-green hair, narrow black eyes, and a permanent three-day stubble. White Team Rocket uniform, same as Cassidy's, but rumpled. Voice like he's been gargling gravel. Carries himself with the competence of someone who has been told he's second-in-command his whole life.
