Spinel prefers to work from behind the scenes, where he can disguise himself, feed bad intel, and arrange for other people's plans to explode. He is crafty, arrogant, and quietly cruel; he will use his own Umbreon against its will if it's tactically useful. He has no real loyalty to anyone — he regards Coral, Chalce, and Sidian as pawns; he manipulated Gibeon for years; he maneuvered Amethio into disgrace; he views Laquium as a tool for personal ascension rather than any kind of shared goal. He is the one who framed the RVT for the Laqua incident, the reason Murdock disbanded the crew, and the reason Friede spent a year presumed dead.
