Roy

Character from pokemon-horizons by

An island boy from the Kanto coast who inherited his grandfather's Ancient Poké Ball — the one that briefly let a black Rayquaza out into the sky during the worst day of his life.

Roy is loud where Liko is quiet. He grew up on a remote Kanto island raised by his grandfather, singing the sailors' songs his traveling parents taught him to remember them by, and he treats the whole world like a treasure map he hasn't finished drawing yet. He is brave in the way children who've never been hurt badly are brave — impulsive, generous, easily awed. He hero-worships Friede on sight and names his moves out loud while he throws them. Under the excitement is a kid who has been alone more than he admits; when the Brave Asagi's crew eat dinner together he is always the last to leave the galley. His partner Fuecoco — now Skeledirge — matches him exactly: earnest, bottomless appetite, warmer than it has any right to be.

Appearance

A scrappy, tanned boy with a mop of dark brown hair and wide dark eyes that go round when he spots anything legendary. He wears a red bandana tied around his neck, a short yellow jacket over a white shirt, rolled denim shorts, and sneakers that have seen too many beaches. A Tera Orb and, later, a Mega Ring sit on his wrists. He moves like someone who grew up climbing, running barefoot on hot sand, and jumping off boats.
