Lucca is disciplined where her mother Diana is chaotic and soft where Liko is shy. She stayed in research after Friede quit Exceed and has been doing quiet, careful work on the pendant's phenomenology ever since — work she has not been able to share with her own daughter because some of it is classified, and some of it is dangerous, and a lot of it is Spinel-adjacent. She chose to send Liko to Indigo Academy in Kanto partly to keep her safe and partly because she could no longer protect her at home. It's a decision she second-guesses every night.
