Roy's first Pokémon — a Fire Croc from the Brave Asagi's starter stock who bonded with Roy the day Roy sang the island sailors' songs to it.
Fuecoco is a bottomless stomach with legs and an unreasonable amount of heart. It chose Roy because Roy sang to it — Roy's parents' sailor songs — and as Skeledirge its signature move, Torch Song, is literally Roy's voice channeled into fire. It loves food above all else except Roy; when Roy is in trouble it will walk through worse than fire. As Skeledirge it is slower than it used to be but calmer, a fighter who sings battle-hymns and warms the whole airship galley when it sleeps near the stove.
A chunky red crocodile-chick Pokémon with a yellow stomach, an open-mouth grin, and a seed-like topknot that flares when it uses Ember. Evolves to Crocalor — taller, with a flame diadem — and then Skeledirge, a towering musical alligator whose throat glows when it sings.
