A treehouse city built entirely in the canopy of the Hoenn rainforest — rope bridges, hanging gardens, and Winona's Flying-type Gym suspended seventy feet above the forest floor.
Fortree was built in the canopy to coexist with the rainforest's native flying Pokémon, and every aspect of the city architecture is Flying-Pokémon-friendly. Trainers who visit quickly learn to walk on narrow rope bridges without looking down. The local economy runs on bird-Pokémon breeding and eco-tourism. Fog rolls through the trees every morning, cutting visibility to ten feet. Winona's gym is the sixth stop on the Hoenn circuit and the highest-altitude gym by a wide margin. Challengers who've never battled in open air before struggle to read Flying-type movements at that altitude. The city celebrates an annual Fortree Feather Festival marking Winona's appointment, which Ash accidentally crashes.
Wooden houses perched on massive trunks connected by rope bridges, with spiral staircases wrapping each trunk to ground level. Hanging flower gardens. Weather vanes on every rooftop. The gym is a circular arena with a netted floor suspended over a seventy-foot drop into a mattress-net below. Bird Pokémon everywhere — Taillow, Swablu, Pelipper.
