A seven-facility super-tournament complex scattered across Kanto — the Frontier Brains' home turf, Ash's post-Hoenn challenge, and the hardest gauntlet in the series up to this point.
The Battle Frontier is Kanto's answer to the gym circuit — a seven-facility gauntlet designed to test every aspect of trainer skill beyond raw type matchups. Each facility has unique rules: rental teams only at the Factory, three-turn limits at the Arena, showmanship at the Dome, random corridors at the Pike, no-command battling at the Palace, relocating venues at the Pyramid, and mind-linked challenges at the Tower. Beating all seven earns a full symbol set and, technically, Frontier Brain candidacy. Ash tackles the Frontier after Hoenn and becomes one of the few trainers to earn all seven symbols. His toughest opponents are Brandon (three matches) and Anabel (whose telepathic style he's never faced). At the end of the gauntlet Brandon offers him a Frontier Brain position, which Ash declines to keep traveling.
Seven distinct facilities across Kanto, linked by ferry and rail: the Battle Factory (industrial warehouse), Battle Arena (dojo-style), Battle Dome (coliseum), Battle Pike (serpent-themed maze), Battle Palace (wilderness retreat), Battle Pyramid (mobile pyramid — it relocates), and Battle Tower (glass spire). Each has its own aesthetic and its own Frontier Brain running it.
