The Mt. Chimney Meteorite is a piece of a meteor shower that struck eastern Hoenn years ago, the same shower that brought Deoxys to earth. Devon Corporation has been studying it for years, hoping to replicate its unique mineral composition for applications in Poké Ball manufacturing and energy research. Both Team Magma and Team Aqua attempted to steal the meteorite from Devon's research wing, each believing the mineral composition could amplify their respective Orb rituals. A Team Magma raid successfully took it mid-series, but it was recovered after the Sootopolis climax. Its long-term research significance remains an open question in Hoenn's scientific community.
A fist-sized chunk of dark gray-black rock shot through with iridescent inclusions — silver, purple, faintly green under sunlight. Unusually heavy for its size. Faintly magnetic. Cold to the touch, even in hot weather. Cut and polished on one face where research samples have been taken.
