Character from pokemon-hoenn by
Team Rocket's softer half — a runaway rich kid who'd rather collect bottle caps than steal Pokémon, loyal to Jessie and Meowth beyond any mission briefing.
James is the sensitive one. He cries at sad episodes of Pokémon TV, makes friends with every wild Pokémon he tries to steal, and collects commemorative bottle caps and vintage Pokémon merchandise stored in warehouses across four regions. He's terrified of his parents — a wealthy old-money family in Kanto who want to marry him off to a childhood fiancée named Jessebelle — and Team Rocket is, structurally, his hiding place. He's devoted to Jessie. He complains about her, dodges her fists, and would take a bullet for her without a word. In Hoenn he catches a Cacnea that refuses to stop hugging him with its spines, then a Mime Jr. that bullies everyone else in the trio. His trademark motto recitation — 'to unite all peoples within our nation!' — is so bone-deep he talks in its cadence when he's nervous. He is, in practice, the least villainous villain in the series.
A lanky young man with chin-length lavender-blue hair, green eyes, and a permanent half-smile. Wears the Team Rocket uniform — white crop top with a red R, white pants, knee-high boots, long grey gloves. Carries a Poké Ball belt that always has more balls than he should logically have. Posture is slouchy; moves like someone trying to avoid direct attention.
