Harley holds grudges like heirlooms. May offered him a cookie once, laughed at his Cacturne costume, and he has never let it go — he shows up at every Contest to sabotage her specifically, drop fake rumors, and swipe her strategies. He mimics her voice to embarrass her in front of judges. He bakes laxative-laced cookies for her Pokémon. He is, unambiguously, the villain of May's arc, and he enjoys every minute of it. But he's also genuinely skilled. His Cacturne, Banette, Ariados, and later Wigglytuff are all brutally well-trained, and his performances are inventive — spiderwebs of String Shot lit into constellations, ghost-type illusions that make judges gasp. He's theatrical, catty, and a little sad when the camera isn't on him. When May finally beats him cleanly at the Wisteria Contest, he takes it like a death in the family — and then shows up at the next Contest with new tricks, somehow even more bitter than before.
A tall, lanky young man with long purple-violet hair and purple eyes, almost always dressed in a full Cacturne costume — a green hooded bodysuit with yellow triangle markings, matching shoes. Even out of costume he moves in Cacturne poses, arms spread wide, fingers splayed. Wears a smile that never reaches his eyes.
