The lighthouse at Olivine City's harbor where Amphy the Ampharos lives and keeps the beacon burning — and where Jasmine keeps vigil over a sick Pokémon instead of running her gym.
The Glitter Lighthouse is both navigation infrastructure and the game's most humane sidequest setup. Amphy keeps the beacon. Ships depend on the beacon. Jasmine stays because Amphy is sick and she won't leave a sick Pokémon. You climb to the top to find Jasmine, who explains the situation and asks for medicine from the pharmacy in Cianwood. No battle, no puzzle — just a request made by a person who is doing the right thing and needs help doing it. The lighthouse itself is atmospheric: salt-worn stairs, the increasing brightness as you climb, the sound of the sea getting smaller below. Amphy at the summit is tired and dim. You bring the medicine, the light comes back.
A tall lighthouse at the edge of Olivine's waterfront, the beacon at the summit visible from far out at sea. The interior is a series of stairs and floors, progressively more private as you climb, until you reach the top where Amphy rests in a room lit by the glow of the Pokémon itself.
