Character from Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver by Game Freak / Nintendo
His Roaring Fists Do the Talking — a massive, enthusiastic Fighting-type trainer who spars alongside his Pokémon rather than coaching from a distance, and who gets tired faster than you'd expect.
Chuck is Cianwood's gym leader, and Cianwood is the city you have to take a boat to reach, which establishes a certain personality before you even meet him. He trains by sparring directly with his Pokémon — not running drills or giving commands, actually getting in there with them. This is either the most committed approach to Fighting-type training or a health and safety concern. He's traveled far for the craft: trained in Galar to study karate, mentored a young Bea there before she became the Galar Fighting-type gym leader. He has a teacher's instinct underneath the enthusiasm. His wife stands outside the gym and suggests he come home more. This detail is in the game. Chuck seems like the kind of trainer who genuinely forgets time when he's training. The Storm Badge and HM Fly are the rewards for beating him — one of the more practical badge gifts in the region.
Powerfully built with a broad frame and the hands of someone who punches things for training. His wife describes him as spending more time at the gym than at home. He looks like his whole philosophy is expressed in his physique. He is somehow also winded by a long battle.
