Bugsy is a walking contradiction: he specializes in a type most trainers undervalue, and he's built one of the more dangerous early-game challenges around it. His Scyther is the signature threat — quick, hard-hitting, the kind of encounter that punishes trainers who assume Bug types are easy. His research is genuine. He discovered the move Fury Cutter through systematic observation of how his Scyther's attacks built momentum. He travels to Viridian Forest on Thursdays, not to battle but to observe. He declines to enter the Bug-Catching Contest in National Park because he's won it enough times that competing feels unfair. He's harsh when trainers show ignorance about insects, but the harshness is the disappointment of someone who thinks this stuff matters. He gives out his phone number — you can call him for rematches — which is oddly sociable for someone who spends most of his time in the field.
