Location from Pokémon Black & White by Nintendo / Game Freak
A city that looks different depending on which version you play — futuristic in Black, traditional in White — home to dragon masters and the philosophical divide the games embody.
Opelucid City is the only location in BW that changes dramatically between versions, and the design choice is brilliant. The same city, the same people, the same gym — but seen through the lens of truth (technological reality) or ideals (traditional aspiration). It's the game telling you that perspective shapes everything. In BW2, Neo Team Plasma attacks Opelucid City with Kyurem, freezing it in ice. Drayden defends the city personally. The attack is devastating and marks the point where Neo Plasma stops pretending to have ideological cover — this is pure aggression.
In Black: a high-tech city with sleek modern architecture, holographic displays, and advanced infrastructure. In White: a traditional city with historical buildings, stone architecture, and classical aesthetics. Both versions house Drayden's Dragon-type gym. The version difference is the game's thesis made physical — truth sees the world one way, ideals see it another.
