Humilau City's Water-type gym leader — a surfer and swimmer who cares more about the ocean than about titles, and battles with the easy strength of someone who's already found what matters.
Marlon is the most laid-back gym leader in Unova, which in a region dealing with Neo Team Plasma's terrorism makes him either refreshingly grounded or frustratingly disengaged. He lives in the ocean as much as on land, he speaks in a relaxed drawl, and his Water-type team fights with fluid, adaptive grace. He's not apathetic — when pushed, he fights hard and cares about his city. He just doesn't see the point in stress when you could be swimming.
Dark skin, blue eyes, wild dark hair with a tan line from constant sun exposure. Shirtless or in minimal swimming attire, muscular swimmer's build. Blue-streaked headband. Looks like someone who was pulled off a wave and told he had to battle.
