Hilbert

Character from Pokémon Black & White by Nintendo / Game Freak

A quiet kid from Nuvema Town who set out to fill a Pokédex and ended up dismantling a cult, befriending a god, and saving an entire region before dinner.

Hilbert is the BW male protagonist — a trainer from Nuvema Town who receives his first Pokémon from Professor Juniper alongside childhood friends Bianca and Cheren. He is defined more by his actions than his words: he chooses to challenge every gym, he chooses to confront Team Plasma, and when N summons the legendary dragon at the Pokémon League, Hilbert is the one the other dragon chooses in response. He approaches conflict with steady determination rather than bravado. Where Bianca is emotional and Cheren is analytical, Hilbert is the one who simply acts — walking into danger not because he doesn't understand it but because someone needs to. His bond with his Pokémon is genuine and deep, which is precisely what makes him the counterargument to N's philosophy: not words about whether trainers care, but living proof.

Appearance

Medium build teenage boy with messy brown hair under a red and white baseball cap. Blue jacket over a black shirt, jeans. Carries a large messenger bag. Has an open, determined face — the kind of kid who looks normal until you realize he just walked through Victory Road alone.
