Genesect was a prehistoric apex predator — the most dangerous Pokémon of its era. Team Plasma resurrected it from a fossil and augmented it with cybernetic weaponry, including the signature cannon on its back. It's N's nightmare made metal: a Pokémon that was literally turned into a weapon by humans. The project predates N's leadership of Team Plasma, suggesting Ghetsis authorized it while preaching liberation. Genesect is the proof that Ghetsis never believed his own rhetoric — you don't build a cyborg war machine if you want Pokémon to be free. N reportedly shut down the project when he learned of it, calling it an abomination. But the Genesect was already complete.
