Burgh

Character from Pokémon Black & White by Nintendo / Game Freak

Castelia City's Bug-type gym leader and avant-garde artist — a man who finds more beauty in the patterns on a Leavanny's wings than in any gallery.

Burgh runs his gym like an art installation and his battles like performances. He's Castelia City's most prominent artist, which in a city modeled on Manhattan means he's competing with everyone. His Bug-type team reflects his aesthetic philosophy — he sees complexity, beauty, and resilience in creatures others dismiss. He's gentle and slightly dreamy in conversation, but sharpens considerably in battle. His gym is inside a honey-coated labyrinth because of course it is. He confronts Team Plasma with genuine moral outrage when they threaten his city — the artist becomes an activist when something he loves is threatened.

Appearance

Slender, fashionable, with fluffy brown-green hair and artistic clothing — a green scarf, a fitted shirt, paint-stained fingers. Moves with an artist's distracted grace, like someone who's always half-seeing something beautiful that isn't there yet.
