The first region — a temperate peninsula of small cities, cedar forests, and volcanic islands, the birthplace of Ash's journey and the original 151 Pokémon.

Kanto is where the world started, and every later region is measured against its eight-gym, one-league structure. Its wild Pokémon are the ones that define the global mythology. Pallet, Viridian, Pewter, Cerulean, Vermilion, Celadon, Saffron, Fuchsia, Cinnabar — the circuit everyone knows.

Appearance

Rolling green hills, pine-bordered coasts, a central mountain range with Mt. Moon at its spine, a tropical southern archipelago (the Seafoam and Cinnamon islands), and the sprawling metropolis of Saffron at its heart. Road signs and Pokémon Center rooflines in that iconic pastel palette.
