The mythical progenitor Pokémon — a pink feline psychic said to hold the DNA of every species, and the singular obsession of Goh's entire career.

Mew is the anime's whimsy-god. Where Mewtwo is trauma, Mew is play. It appears at Tree of Beginning in Kanto, at Faraway Island, and — in the Journeys arc — repeatedly before Goh as a kind of taunt-promise. It holds the DNA of every Pokémon and seems to find humans amusing. It has never been caught.

Appearance

Small, cat-like, about sixteen inches long, rosy-pink fur, large round blue eyes, a long thin tail ending in a curl. Floats with bending playfulness. Often invisible unless it wishes to be seen.
