Ash's Unova companion and eventually the Unova Champion by Journeys — a Village of Dragons girl who became one of the most powerful Dragon-type trainers in the world.
Iris was raised among dragons in the Village of Dragons and treats the rest of civilization with amused condescension for most of the Unova arc. "Little kid" is her favorite insult for Ash, and she means it affectionately. She grew into Unova's Champion between arcs — in Journeys she battles Ash at the highest level and wins one of the series' most dramatic matches. Her worst trait is the teasing superiority of a very gifted child; her best is a deep, specific love for Dragon-types that borders on religious. Under pressure she climbs — literally, she has escaped multiple traps by going up — and strategizes from elevation.
Long wild purple hair in a huge spike-bun, dark skin, warm brown eyes, cream top over pink trousers. Later, as Champion, a formal black outfit with purple accents. Agile — climbs trees without hesitation.
