The Champion of Sinnoh and one of the strongest trainers in the anime — a scholar of mythology whose Garchomp has been Ash's benchmark since the Sinnoh arc.
Cynthia speaks slowly, thinks faster. She's the series' most recurring Champion — appearing in every region at least once — and she treats each encounter with Ash as a teaching moment. She studies mythology and speaks of Arceus and Giratina the way most trainers speak of the weather. Her worst trait — if she has one — is the way her composure reads as aloof to kids who don't know her yet. Her best is a genuine, broad curiosity and an extraordinary patience with young trainers. In battle she is an analyst: her Garchomp opens most matches, and the trainer across from her usually knows within three turns exactly how outclassed they are.
Tall, long blonde hair that falls in waves to her waist, grey eyes, a black high-collared coat over black trousers and boots, with a black-and-gold clip. Carries herself with the grace of a museum curator and the stillness of a surgeon.
