Ula'ula is the biggest island and the one with the most hiding places. The Aether Foundation's secondary operations, Team Skull's Shady House in Po Town, the Haina Desert, the old pokecenter outside Malie where Nanu lives — they are all here. Tapu Bulu roams the highlands. Ash does his third grand trial here. Mount Lanakila, Alola's tallest peak, is where Kukui builds the Alola League stadium — snow-capped, cold, and visible from every other island. The Manalo Conference takes place at its summit. It is the series' climactic setting.
Largest and most varied of the Alolan islands. A snowy northern peak (Mount Lanakila) looms over a patchwork of rainforest, desert, and a massive wooded interior. Malie City sits on the north coast with a Johto-influenced architecture. Po Town lies in a perpetually-raining basin in the interior. The island smells of pine, rain, and sulfur.
