The remote final island — wildlands, Vast Poni Canyon, the Altar of the Sunne/Moone, and the youngest kahuna.
Poni is the Alola the tourists don't see. It is older and stranger — fewer roads, fewer towns, more myth. Hapu's farm is here. Vast Poni Canyon is here. The Altar of the Sunne is here, where Nebby's final evolution occurs under the cosmic eclipse. Tapu Fini governs from the mist. Ash's fourth grand trial, with Hapu, takes place in the canyon's shadow. The Ultra Beasts that come through Poni are the worst ones — Nihilego makes landfall here; Necrozma eclipses the island first. The island knows. It has always known.
Wilder and less settled than the other islands. Sheer cliffs, deep canyons, mist-wreathed beaches. Vast Poni Canyon splits the island's interior — a lightless gorge where ancient Pokémon still live. The Altar of the Sunne (or Moone) stands on the eastern plateau: a ring of standing stones with a central pillar etched in constellations.
