The specialized Poké Ball developed by Aether to catch Ultra Beasts — required equipment for the Ultra Guardians.

A standard Poké Ball will not hold an Ultra Beast. Aether Foundation engineered the Beast Ball specifically to do so — a device calibrated for the unique energy signature of Ultra Space natives. The ball has a dramatically higher catch rate against Ultra Beasts and a dramatically lower rate against anything else. A trainer cannot catch a Charizard with a Beast Ball. They can sometimes catch a Guzzlord. When the Ultra Guardians were formed, Aether supplied them with a standing allocation of Beast Balls. Ash, Lillie, Kiawe, Mallow, Lana, Sophocles, and later Gladion all carry them. Sophocles' onboard signal relays let them track Ultra Beast activity and deploy to containment points across Alola.

Appearance

A slightly oversized Poké Ball with a reflective yellow-and-indigo enamel finish and a distinctive swirled purple-and-white top hemisphere. Heavier than a standard Poké Ball. Thicker release-button seal. Marked with a small Aether Foundation logo above the hinge.
