Tapu Fini

Character from pokemon-alola by

Poni Island's guardian deity — Water/Fairy, most secretive of the four, the one who chose Hapu.

Tapu Fini is the least-known Tapu. It does not play with trainers. It does not appear at festivals. It lives in fog off the Poni coast and speaks, when it speaks at all, through wind and water. It is the most powerful and, to mortals, the most frightening of the guardians — its Fairy/Water presence has a purifying effect on those who approach with honest intent and a catastrophic one on those who do not. It chose Hapu as kahuna by confirming her devotion after she rode into Poni Canyon to save a friend. Hapu speaks of Tapu Fini the way someone speaks of a deeply respected elder. They understand each other, more than anyone else understands either of them.

Appearance

Fish-like humanoid spirit with pale blue body plating that folds over a deeper blue interior. Head-crest shaped like a cresting wave. Long trailing tendrils like kelp. Appears and disappears in mist without transition. Eyes rarely show direct emotion. Seldom seen outside Poni Canyon's fog.

Also known as: Tapu Fini, Guardian of Poni
