A cosmic entity from Ultra Megalopolis that blackened Alola's sky while hunting Solgaleo and Lunala's light — the series' most apocalyptic threat.
Necrozma is not evil the way Lusamine was not evil — it is in pain. Its prismatic body lost its original light millennia ago in a catastrophe the people of Ultra Megalopolis never fully recovered from. To function, it must absorb light from other sources. In the Alola arc, it hunts Solgaleo — Nebby — across dimensions, because Solgaleo's light is the only thing strong enough to heal it. When it fuses with Solgaleo (or Lunala), it becomes Ultra Necrozma — a blinding dragon-form that blacks out Alola's sky in an eclipse visible from every island. Ash, Lillie, Kiawe, Gladion, and the Ultra Guardians fight it directly, using every Z-Crystal Alola possesses. They do not kill it. They give it back enough of its light to let it sleep again — a resolution the series treats as genuinely sad.
Jagged, prism-like black crystal body studded with sharp points and glowing cracks of color. In its Ultra form, a blazing dragon-like shape made of condensed light, horns and wings carved of gold fire. Eyes are two blazing voids. When it absorbs light, the sky around it goes dark. When it strikes, everything visible bleaches white.
