Kiawe

Character from pokemon-alola by

The class's Fire-type specialist and resident serious person — a farm kid who delivers milk on a Charizard's back before school and inherited his grandfather's Z-Ring.

Kiawe is composed in a way his classmates don't quite believe. He stands when others sprawl, trains before dawn, and when asked a question answers it literally. He is also — to the repeated amazement of his friends — one of the most emotionally volatile members of the group. Dance moves make him cry. Beautiful battles make him cry. Stories about his late grandfather make him cry. He simply does this quietly and with dignity. He was the first of the class to possess a Z-Ring, which makes him the class's de facto authority on Z-Moves. He takes this seriously. He lectures. He demonstrates the poses. He corrects Ash's sloppy form. Under all of this is a real fear: that he isn't living up to his grandfather's example, that the ranch is too much for his parents alone, that his little sister Mimo will outgrow him. He carries his responsibilities the way other kids carry backpacks. His Turtonator Inferno Overdrives. His Marowak Sings Siren's Shriek. He does not joke about Fire-types.

Appearance

Deep tan skin, dark red buzz-cut hair, golden eyes. Shirtless under a dark feathered shoulder drape patterned with Alolan motifs, red shorts with dark stripes, red-and-black sandals. Red Z-Ring on his left wrist — his late grandfather's. Moves with the balance of someone who has carried full milk pails across uneven ground since he could walk.
