Mimikyu hates Pikachu. Not dislikes — hates. Theologically. This one was adopted, or adopted itself, into Team Rocket specifically because it saw an opportunity to hunt Ash's Pikachu. It will derail any mission to chase Pikachu through a wall. It will scream at the sight of merchandise. Meowth refuses to translate what it says about Pikachu because the words are upsetting. It is also, inexplicably, loyal to Jessie. When she repaired its disguise after a tear exposed it, it began protecting her — from Murkrow, from storms, from rival coordinators. It attends her contests. It tolerates James. It tolerates Meowth. Its cruelty and its devotion live side-by-side in the costume, and when it finally catches its own reflection in water and understands itself, it lets the grudge go with a grief so quiet it looks like relief. Its Shadow Sneak bypasses Pikachu's Quick Attack. Its Let's Snuggle Forever Z-Move is one of the most frightening attacks in the series.
